Share the Love

SharetheLove

Hi everyone! By now you’ve seen a lot of amazing projects from fellow crafters. If you need a snack break I totally understand! I’ll wait here while you rehydrate and grab a handful of Goldfish crackers…

Ok, ready to keep going? Great!

Welcome again to the Share the Love Blog Hop!  The whole idea of this event is to make a card and send it to someone you love. We are part of an amazing hobby and we can use our talent to put a smile on someone’s face. There is nothing better than that. You don’t even need a special occasion to send your card. Maybe all you want to say is ‘hi’…and that’s ok!

Make sure to leave a comment on all of the blogs on this hop to be eligible to win a $25 gift certificate to the Mint Owl Studio store.  There will be one winner chosen, so the more blogs you comment on, the better your chance is to win!

I’ll have more info about how you can participate & share the love, but first let’s get to my card!

I had so much fun making this card. It really used a lot of products and things I love. The stripe background was made using Distress Ink (Festive Berries, Picked Raspberry, and Spun Sugar) and mini blender tools. As always, I  wanted to get the bleached spots look, so I spritzed them with some water. I cut out the polaroid with the Mama Elephant Polaroid Fun die, and created the scene for it using tons of pieces from Mint Owl Studio stamp sets.

The grass came from the My Deer stamp set. The cute little flowers and hello speech bubble are from the new Piggy Party stamp set. The banner is from the new Easter blessings stamp set. The little white hearts are from the Some Bunny stamp set. And finally the moose and sentiment came from the I Moose You stamp set.

Whew. Told you I used a ton of pieces from different sets.

My favorite part about using the moose for this card was making his eyes hearts. It makes me feel like he’s in love and there’s no hiding it. To get this effect I using washi tape to cover his eyes when stamping. That way there were no eyes initially. Then I used the outlined heart from the I Moose You set and put them where his eyes would be. I added back the eyebrows and that was it! I colored him, and the other pieces, with Copics, finished off with some white sequins from the Chocolate Truffle and the iridescent sequins from the Mint Owl Mix.

I’ll be sending this card to my grandma. She always gets a kick out of cute little images like this, and I have a feeling it will definitely put a smile on her face to get this.

Thanks for joining me today! Here’s the hop order so if you missed anyone you can go back. Your next stop is with Lisa! And below you’ll find more info about how to participate in the share the love event!
