Your Next Stamp Blog Hop!

Hello everyone, and happy Saturday! I hope you’re having a great weekend. I’m spending this weekend with some out of town family, but I’m super excited to share the fun projects I made for Your Next Stamp’s New Release Blog Hop! They are awesome and I am pumped to be working with them again for the November release. These new products are so fun and perfect for the winter season-which is coming fast! I just love the little penguins that they always have any today’s card showcases them! This set is called Waddles Winter Happiness and it’s soo fun 🙂

I also have the coordinating dies for this set which always makes things a breeze! Be sure to read to the end of the post to get all the info on how to win prizes, get coupon codes and how to get to the next blog!

Let’s take a look at the cards I made for today!

I made this first card by die cutting two stitched rectangles from Bristol Smooth cardstock. Then I took a curved stitched die and made my snowy hill by cutting one of the rectangles towards the bottom. I applied some Peacock Feathers Distress Ink to the edges to make a sky, and to make it look like it was snowing I added a bunch of water splatters. This is my favorite messy look. It gives such great texture to a card!  Then I stamped the little skiing penguin on some Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored him in with my Copics. I loved how jolly these little characters look. I attached all the pieces and and stamped the sentiment in the center of the sky. This would be such a fun card to mass produce!075f

For my second card I have another Distress Ink, penguin combo.

This time I started with a card base of Neenah Solar White cardstock because I knew I’d be coloring in Copics on it. Full disclosure-you can see my coloring through the back of the paper. If this bothers you, you can certainly add a layer of paper so that you don’t see this!

I die cut the cute little bird carrying mistletoe onto the front of the card along with two circles from the Stitching Marks Die. Then I stamped the bird with the card shut, so that it lined up perfectly with the die cut, but was still stamped on the inside of the card. 0812

Then  colored in the two kissing penguins with my Copics and die cut them to add to the card with some foam tape. I couldn’t resist stamped the “mwah” speech bubble and die cutting that as well to be mounted with some foam tape. It was too cute!!

The last touches were blending on some Mowed Lawn Distress Ink to the edges and stamped the sentiment in the inside of the card. I just love these non-traditional colors for a holiday card!
