Heffy Doodle Blog Hop!

Hello, all! I’m so excited to be sharing another Heffy Doodle project with you today. And today is extra special, because it’s not just any old post–it’s the blog hop post to celebrate the new release!!! If you’ve missed any stops along the way, be sure to check out the end of this post to start at the beginning.

There are tons of great products that were just released for Heffy Doodle as a part of their release 2, and today I’m going to be using a couple of them to create a fun holiday card. Here’s what I came up with…

Does anyone else love wrapping presents as much as I do? It may seem silly, since it’s all going in the recycling the day after Christmas, but it’s so fun picking out paper and emblishments to have sit under the tree for the season. Imagine that…a paper crafter who likes paper and embellishments!! LOL. So I started my card by die cutting a stitched oval out of some Neenah Solar White card stock. I used my Misti Stamping tool to help me line up the letters from the new Jet Alphabetters set. I love all that you can do with this larger alphabet set. If you caught my post from the release day, you may remember that I used the letters as the focal point on my card. Once the sentiment was done I started stamping all the other images I was going to use on some more Neenah Solar White card stock.

I stamped them all out and colored them in with my Copics. I used mostly images from the Elfish Antics set, but I did sneak in the sled from Warm Hugs 🙂 I tried to keep the colors to a minimum. For example, all of my red/pinks use the same set of markers, same goes for the greens, purples, and so on. Using more or less of your darkest color will give you different looking colors, while not introducing too many different colors to the piece. Next I die cut them all out with the coordinating dies for Elfish Antics andWarm Hugs.

To make it so my little elf could carry all her wrapping supplies, I snipped her arm a little with my scissors. that way I could wedge the wrapping paper bin and tape a little further in. To create my card base I simply took the same ink that I stamped my letters with, Audrey Blue from Simon Says Stamp, and ink blended it over a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card panel. I added little white dots to it with my gel pen. I love that it looks like it’s snowing. I also added white gel pen to a lot of the die cut pieces.

I arranged adhered the oval to the card panel, and then all the other elements were arranged over top. Somethings were popped up with foam tape, while the rest was adhereed flat. I added Glossy Accents to some of the images to give a little more interest to the piece. I adhered the panel to a card base, and that was it for my card.  I love how this turned out!

  1. I love wrapping too, I like to make each gift extra pretty for the recipient. It’s one of the best parts of Christmas. Your card is amazing, I love your colouring and the feel of the hustle and bustle of getting everything ready, awesome card.

  2. One of the downsides to makng agreements with the extended family that we’d limit how mny gifts to each person, is that I no longer have that huge stack of pretty packages with bright bows! Better for my wallet and for getting rid of clutter, but I miss the wrapping,

  6. I love your card! Wrapping gifts was always one of my favourite things to do too. Loved making special tags and finding things to use instead of bows because mine were all shipped away.
