You Are Amazing

Hi, everyone! Happy Monday! Normally I wouldn’t be so chipper on a Monday, but for us U.S. peeps we get to go into this week knowing it’s a short one. Woo!! Another thing that’s got me smiling is the fun card I get to share with you today for Penguin Palace. Let’s jump right in.

I started today’s card by die cutting a stitched rectangle that also has stitched bubbles on it from 110 lb card stock. I ink blended some blue Distress Oxide inks over top and added lots of fun splatters and water spots for texture. When it was completely dry I die cut some heart dies from the piece and set it aside. This piece became the background for my cute littler mermaids to swim on.

Next, I stamped out a bunch of the sweet mermaids from Pretty Mermaid Planner and colored them in with my Copics. I die cut them with the coordinating dies and went back to work on the background!

IMG_2441I used some of the fun paper called Elegant Backwash from the shop behind the ink blended piece to look like water, or waves. I adhered both of those to a card base, and then started adding the mermaids to the panel.

For my sentiment I stamped the sentiment “you are amazing” by masking the full sentiment from the An Amazing Friend stamp set. This is a great way to make your stamps go further and get the exact message you want! It’s also a great way to use more stamp sets together. As a finishing tough I added white Nuvo drops and white gel pen accents to the mermaid images. And that finished my card! I hope you enjoyed the card for today. I love these mermaid images and I can’t wait to use them again. There’s another mermaid set (or two) from the shop that would pair so well with this one! Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you all have a great week!! I’ll see you again soon with another card 🙂
