Tis’ The Season

Hi, everyone! It’s Cassie here, and I’m so excited to share my very first Craftin’ Desert Diva post with you as a design team member! This week, the design team is creating projects around the theme “Anything Goes.” This was perfect, because I’m still in the mood to use my Christmas stamps! I made a cute but simple thank you for the loved ones that spoiled me these last week.

Because I want to make a ton of holiday style thank yous, I tried to keep this design simple. Despite that fact, I knew I had to do some coloring and these cute images from the Holiday Sweater stamp set were calling to me! I stamped the adorable moose from the set with some Copic friendly ink onto a 110 lb white card stock. I colored him in, keeping the colors used to a minimum so that it was quick. I just love those lights tangled in his antlers! I ended up fussy cutting him out, which did take some time, but I LOVE how it looks with the background.

Too cute, right?! Next I worked on the background, which I kept really simple. I used the Hill Scene 2 Stencil to create some snowy hills. Using my ink blending tool, I used circular motions to blend the Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink, fading it towards the bottom. I did three layers of the snow banks, then flipped the stencil around and used it to mask the snow banks and blend Worn Lipstick and Tattered Rose for the sky. Once that was done I took some white paint and splattered it with my paintbrush over the entire piece for some fluffy snow. I splattered it on the moose too, so it looked like he was getting hit with flurries as well 🙂

IMG_2537Once the ink and paint were dry I stamped the sentiment “Tis’ the Season’ from the same Holiday Sweater stamp set with VersaMark ink and heat embossed gold embossing powder over top. I love the pop of gold amidst all that pink! I adhered the cutie moose flat to the card with some tape runner adhesive, and finished the card off with some flat, iridescent sequins from the Bubblegum Sequin mix! I also added some Glossy Accents to the light bulbs, ornaments and star. And that’s my card for today! I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks so much for stopping by, and I’ll see you again soon with another card!!
