Your Next Stamp Blog Hop!

Hello, everyone! It’s such a fun day today because I’m participating in the Your Next Stamp  release day blog hop! I’ve got some fun cards to show you showcasing new Halloween products. Honestly I love them all, but if I had to pick my favorite it would be the Fab-boo-lous stamp set. Isn’t it adorable!?

And this cuteness is only the beginning! I’ve been seeing a lot of awesome products and projects from the design team! I know my Halloween cards are going to be adorably spooky this year. 🙂

Alright, let’s look at my first project.

The first card I made really utilizes a new die set called Happy Haunting. I love the way adding the dies to the card front adds interest an dimension, but is so easy! To make the card I left the dies connected and ran them through my Big Shot a few times. You may need a shim to do this so that everything cuts completely, but it is so much easier than to do them separately. When they were all cut out I placed them how I wanted them on the card and then glued them down. This is where it gets messy but fun. I took my distress inks and blended some Halloween inspired colors on top of the dies and card base. Then I splattered water to get the distressed look. When that was dry I added white and black paint splatters. You’ll definitely want something down on your work surface and an apron when you do this! After that, I simply heat embossed a sentiment on vellum and attached it to finish the card.

Here’s a look at the dies included in Happy Haunting Die set!

On to card number two! This card is a favorite of mine. No surprise when you see the cute images from the Fab-boo-lous stamp set! I used the kitten in the boot, pumpkins, ghost and spider in a web to make this scene! I started by distress inking my background. I’m a huge fan of distress ink, but for some reason during the fall season I love it even more. Making moons is one of my all time favorite things to do with distress ink. Once the background was inked, die cut and popped up with some foam tape I started working on the little images. I stamped them on Strathmore Bristol paper and water colored using my distress ink markers. I stamped the web and spider right into the night sky using some good, crisp, black ink. After I had everything arranged how I wanted it I glued everything down. Then I added the sentiment nearly the same way I did with the first card. I heat embossed the “too cute to spook” sentiment in white and used a purple distress ink to make the words pop. I thought this sentiment was too perfect for this scene!

Alright! This is my final card for the blog hop! But make sure you read to the end because there is more info about prizes, and great deals the Your Next Stamp has going on to celebrate their release day!

For this card I knew I wanted to make a caramel apple buffet. Have you ever gone to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and drooled over the amazing looking apples they have? That’s what I was going for! I stamped out a ton of the caramel apples and started making them all uniquely topped apples with my Copics. Needless to say I was dying to run and get an apple after this card was finished. 🙂 Once the apples were colored and cut I ran a black marker along the edges to make them look uniform and like they were cut by a pro. Then I created two shelves with some brown ink and two strips of cardstock. I attached them and the apples to a panel that had a distressed ink, splotched background. The final touch was the “bite me” speech bubble. I stamped it in black and fussy cut that out too. Some of the little faces came in the Fab-boo-lous stamp set, but a couple were from the Fun Faces set.

Alright-time to get to the goods! Your Next Stamp has an awesome new release sale going on today through the 8th! If you see something you like you should definitely take advantage of this discount code!
